James Sanson – Real Estate Agent

James was born and raised in Oneida, New York. He is a retired fireman and loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Tina Widrig Sanson and their three children. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2023 at the LaRobardiere Funeral Home, 109 Main Street, Camden. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of Oneida and Herkimer Counties or the Camden Volunteer Fire Department.
He has written a wide range of books and articles on the music of Chopin, and on analytical and aesthetic topics in nineteenth- and twentieth-century music. He is Editor-in-Chief of Grove Music Online for South East and Central Europe, and one of the Series Editors of the Complete Chopin: A New Critical Edition (Peters Edition). He has also edited or co-edited several major volumes on the history of music in Poland and Hungary.
In addition to his many accomplishments, James is involved in a variety of community activities. He serves on the board of directors for the St. Vincent de Paul Society and is a member of the Knights of Columbus. He is also a member of the American Association of Teachers of Singing and has served on the national advisory council for the American Choral Directors’ Association.
